I am a structural geologist interested in collisional and Cordilleran mountain belts. My research integrates geologic mapping and structural analysis with detrital and igneous U-Pb geochronology, (U-Th)/He thermochronology and metamorphic petrology to reconstruct sequences of magmatism, sedimentation, deformation and metamorphism. I am particularly interested in conducting field-based research to test models of orogen-scale processes such as continental subduction, high-pressure metamorphism and exhumation, synchronous shortening and extension in orogenic belts, and switches between extension and contraction in orogenic hinterlands. In addition, I am interested in applying my research to better understand the interplay between tectonics and the formation of economic mineral deposits.
